Jamie Hylton was born on June 05, 1981 in Chesterfield. Jamie's birth name was James Hylton Powell, & was a fraternal twin to his brother Steven. When his Mother married he took on the surname of Dobson, of which a lot of you who knew him, will remember him by. For his own personal reasons he choose to change his name by deed poll in January of 2007 & became Jamie Jon Hylton. The middle name was in tribute to my best friend who had sadly died several years previously, & Hylton, which was his Grandfather's first name, became his surname. As well as his twin, he also had three sisters, Debbie, Sam & Ali. Jamie went to Newbold Community School, Chesterfield from 1992-1997. Not one of the people who knew him from here has a bad word to say about him. Sadly he lost touch with the majority of his friends from school but due to FaceBook, in the last few months of his life he was able to catch up with many of them. After leaving school he went on to do a training course in bricklaying, but decided it wasn't for him. He had several jobs after this, The Beer Seller & Dema Glass were two of them. His last one being at TMAT at Holmewood Industrial Park, Chesterfield. One that he thoroughly enjoyed, but due to personal problems of his own had to leave, though they always said they would be happy to take him back on once things were sorted. Sadly Jamie lost his sister Sam in 1999, he was particularly close to her. In 2002 Jamie, due to his mental health problems, went into Wathwood Hospital, Rotherham. He was there til November of 2005. From there he was transferred to Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This is where Jamie & I met in January 2006. We started off as friends then became a couple in July of that year & got engaged in the August. In November 2006 he was discharged from hospital & came to live in our flat in Bakewell, Derbyshire. On 14th April 2008 we got married in Bakewell Registry Office. It was a very quiet affair with just ourselves & our Mums as witnesses. But it was as we wanted it. Sadly Jamie's life was cut short by his untimely death on 12th September 2010. His funeral took place on 22nd September, which was also his sister Sam's birthday. They are now reunited. He is very much missed & loved by many, most of all myself.
